Ernest Hemingway will always be remembered as a writer of prose in which every word had meaning and where nothing was wasted.
The son of a small-town doctor, Hemingway was born in Illinois in 1898. From his childhood he was fond of fishing and shooting-interests, which were to colour his life and work.

Dickens lived a life of toil. He knew misery in his younger years and he became rich and famous in the end.Dickens was born at Portsea, on February 7, 1812. His father was a clerk in the Navy Pay-Office. The family moved to Chatham when Charles was four.

A.J. Cronin, a Scottish novelist and physician, was born in Scotland.
He became a doctor, dreaming of his own practice and scientific investigations, but he had to join the military service, and served as a surgeon in the Navy during World War I.
The name of Mikhail Lomonosov is well known to everyone in Russia and in other countries. Maybe somebody doesn’t even know what discoveries he had made but every person knows that Lomonosov was an outstanding Russian scientist.
He was born in 1711 in a far away northern village. He began to study only since 11 years old. After 8 years had passed Lomonosov went to Moscow and entered the Academy.
