My favourite books were written by the English writer William Shakespeare. 
He was born in April, 1564 in Stratford-on-Avon and grew up in his native town. He attended the local grammar school and got quite a good education.
At the age of 5 the boy first saw the performances of the actors.
When Shakespeare was about 20 he went to London where he worked as a school master for a while. His life experience was very rich. Besides he read a lot.
He began writing plays which were staged at the Globe Theater, and they attracted a lot of spectators. The action in Shakespeare’s plays takes place in different countries and cities. They were staged in many theaters, countries, translated into many languages. The most famous of them are “Macbeth”, “Othello”, “King Lear”, “Hamlet”, “Romeo and Juliet”, “Twelfth Night”. Shakespeare also wrote a lot of sonnets.
He was a very interesting and unusual personality.
